Did you know that you can save energy and money with an energy efficient A-rated boiler, even if your existing boiler is still ticking along just fine?
Having a working boiler is one thing (and something we’re all very thankful for when the weather is this chilly!) but if your boiler is guzzling gas and leaving you with sky high bills, it might be time to consider upgrading.
Whilst investing in a new boiler might seem silly when your current boiler is functioning, it is important to think long-term and start taking control of your energy usage. By upgrading from an old, standard gas boiler to a new A-rated boiler, you could cut your carbon emissions and save money on your energy bills with one investment.
What is an A-rated boiler?
Did you know that boilers are rated from A – G, with A-rated boilers being the most energy efficient? An A-rated boiler is considered 90% efficient, with a G-rated boiler often less than 70% efficient, so if your boiler isn’t up to scratch you could be wasting both energy and money.
All modern A-rated boilers are also condensing boilers, but what does this mean? Condensing boilers work by recovering heat from the hot gases that are produced as a by-product by your boiler and usually released into the air through the flue. With less heat lost through the flue, and the ability to extract more heat from the same amount of fuel, condensing boilers can be at least 20% more efficient than older, standard boilers.
